First, try fighting another battle to the end, then go back and fight him.
If that doesn't work, go to the folder DarkAge2\Game\DarkAge2\Prg, open up "perfectbattle.prg" with notepad, press enter 10 times or so to create a bunch of blank lines at the top of the file, save it, and try again.
If that doesn't work, well I'm leaving on a trip in about an hour and I probably won't be able to get back to you until Tuesday of next week or so. But post what happens and I'll get back to you then. Good luck!
