Deluted Arisings (KSNiloc) Posted by: Xorlak 10:28:38 04-17-2004 |
I'd post this at the TKZ, but that topic's dead (and my forum's cooler, anyway, heh...)
First, I thought the intro was awesome. Very well done for such limited graphics! The battle system is nice. I like the dependency on learning the enemies moves (which I'm guessing will form the bulk of the strategy later on).
My only complaint is the difficulty. From the moment the real game began, I was completely pinned down by random enounters. I used too many of my potions too early and had one heck of a time with that goofy Roman guy (BE SHOT, FOOLS! Heh...) Afterwards, I wasn't in any condition to fight, and had to run from most battles.
My suggestion for future releases would be to tone down the difficulty a lot in this first area. I enjoy a difficult game, but it needs to start off easy and gradually build up, otherwise you might loose some less patient individuals before you can hook them.
I ran into two bugs. It seems that somehow an enemy tank became the third member of my party (it dies instantly at the beginning of battles, though...) I can send you my save state if you want to see it. I noticed this happened later on (when I was running from battles a lot).
Second, I ran into a part where I step into a snow field and am apparently going to fight a boss, but the story sequence cuts off and I'm left standing in the field with no solid tiles and no where to go.
Anyway, I'm definitely looking forward to future releases!
(I also noticed you ripped off one of the MIDIs I modified for Dark Age... heh.)
