And if you want to emulate the computer's AI, have your opponent hit if he gets anything less than 17, and hold otherwise.
Actually I was watching a real Blackjack gambling machine a while back, and I programmed mine too fair. The ones at a casino will instantly say you lost if you go over 21, whereas mine will play out the opponent's hand to see if the computer also goes over 21 and give you a tie if that happens.
