Try opening up C:\DarkAge\Game\DarkAge\Prg\start.prg in a text editor and add this line to the top.

#BattleSpeed(1)

You can try 0 too (although supposedly 0 is the default).

The game was actually developed mostly on a Win ME machine, ha ha

Seems its that time again. Nostalgia trip. I'll never not love that this site is still here.

I'm trying to play the ORIGINAL Dark Age (Not "Ex"). I'm on a Mac. I am running Windows XP in UTM Virtual Machines. I got it to run but everything is too "fast" to the point of being unplayable (enemies are impossible to beat).

I remember seeing this issue 20 years ago actually, lol. Was the original Dark Age made for Windows XP or was it an even earlier version of Windows?

Could be on-demand printing as well with lead-up time before shipping. I'm sure there's someone crazy out there to buy something like that lol, i've been trying to download and keep some stuff from the 00s that I enjoyed, DAEX&2 are some of the items I've kept!

Unfortunately, apart from my own copy I'd like to keep, I don't have any more left. Technically I could sort of make a new one if I really tried (e.g. the the label making software I used was for an old Win ME machine, maybe I could get it working in a VM or something), but it just wouldn't be that authentic mid-2000s experience.

Everything that was on the CD is still up in the downloads section though!

Now that we are in the future where online payments are easily trusted and handled (minus crypto) is it possible for us to purchase DA2 CDs or are you truly out of them? I was too young and my parents were too wary of buying anything online at the time of release but as an adult I yearn to have a copy.

Hello!

To clarify, are you looking for Dark Age 2 version 1.0 installer, or the very first ISO of the CD with version 1.0 on it?

Or just a full ISO of the last version of the CD?

I'm not sure if I kept anything 1.0 related but I can go digging.

It's nice to see there are other people also coming to this site every now and then. Such good memories about this game, and that even so many years after release.
